As I’ve said a long time ago, in addition to being a big action figure collector, I also enjoy comics and I like pro wrestling as well and would like to use this site to cover ALL things in geekdom not just toys. I’ve been meaning to make a couple of wrestling related v-logs for a while but I just never got around to it. Thing is though, I was so horrified and disgusted with the ending of Summerslam this year that something within me snapped and I just had to share my thoughts (via the following rant).
In case you missed it (and I’m sure you did if you don’t like wrestling), Daniel Bryan, a GOD among smarks (“smart marks” which is something I’ll explain sometime down the road to those of you unfamiliar with the term) finally won the WWE title only to be screwed by the dastardly Randy Orton and Triple H. Marks (casual fans who don’t know about the behind-the-scenes stories and politics) got excited for the new storyline while some of us smarks thought it was horrible. The thing is though, I’m the only smark I know who is upset with the new storyline to the point that I’m calling it out and saying it’s the new “fingerpoke of doom” for pro wrestling and that it could very well be the thing that will kill pro wrestling off once and for all (at least as far as it being on network TV is concerned).
So what is the “fingerpoke of doom” and what would I say it is the best example of Triple H (said man behind the modern day fingerpoke of doom) being an insecure asshole who ruined wrestling? Keep reading to find out!
So here’s the promo for Season 2 of the Transformers & other Plastic Crack Blip series. Watch below!!!
So here I talk about volunteering with OFA, applying for a job with the state and just what happened to Alberto. I also introduce everyone to the latest addition to the site, Adrian(a) Martino the cat!!!
So Alberto Martino the Cat passed away this morning. And yes, I’m still torn up about it. I will never understand the kind of people who say “it was just a cat” whenever a cat passes away. Pets are more than just animals we take care of, they really become a member of the family.
Quick tribute I worked up. I’m going to do a longer V-Log where I’ll try to talk about Alberto and just what happened a bit later. And no, there is no ad on this video. It wouldn’t be right to place an ad on something like this.
I know a lot of you who are fans of this site really love Alberto a lot and I think she would be happy to know she’s made people smile/
And now we look at some of my comics from the “X-Men” 90s series. The X-Men was a spin-off of “The Uncanny X-Men” and featured the “Blue Strike Team” (Uncanny X-Men were the Gold Team). Basically the Blue Team was comprised of the more popular X-Men Characters at the time (Wolverine, Cyclops, Beast, Gambit, Psylocke, Jubilee [yes, Jubilee was popular at that point] and Rogue). Overall the comic was pretty good but it fizzled out after Jim Lee and Claremont left the series IMO.
Please allow myself to introduce…myself.
So here’s my quick introduction to the new video format I’ll be using from time to time here on the site.
So I’m back, posting about toys and s**t like that for the first time in almost three years. While I’ve always wanted to update this site and keep working on it, real life sort of got in the way and…well…there you go. Now that staff-reductions where I work have resulted in me having some free time on my hands, to put it all diplomatically, I’ll have time to work on this site. Thing is though, you’re not just going to see me write about toys and s**t like that anymore. I’ve always wanted to take this site to another level, doing written reviews on Transformers stuff, comics, movies, videogames and ALL the stuff that encompasses geek pop culture. So expect video reviews as well as reviews with galleries, some videos regarding my thoughts on the most current movies, comics, stuff that’s going on in the “squared circle” and so on and so forth. I figure if guys like the Nostalgia Critic and Spoony can do it, so can I.
So a friend/fellow awesome toy reviewer posted this picture on his website earlier:
My question is this: Why couldn’t Megatron have been upgraded into this instead of a Tank? It seems to me that something like this would have made more sense for G2 than a tank or the weird Nerf gun he was turned into in the Classics line. This makes me feel old as I can vaguely remember when you could buy a toy uzi or other gun in the 80s and they would actually be black and look just like real guns. The urban legend is that toy companies changed the colors to colors that would make the toy guns look more like toy guns because people were using toy guns to hold up banks and stuff like that. As I said, sounds like an Urban Legend in my book but there’s probably validity in there somewhere.
