What time is it? It’s Halo time sucka!!!

I’m not like most X-Box owners out there. Why? I’ve never been a big Halo fan. I don’t hate the series but it’s just never really done anything for me. I guess it’s because I like my 1st person shooters to be more vicious and gory like Gears of War (the best FPS game ever in my opinion).

So I’ve never been a big fan of Halo but I have to say that I’ve always really enjoyed the visuals in the three games and I think Master Chief is just a really cool character.

I told myself that I would buy the Halo Edition 360 if I saw it because I really liked the dark green designs for the 360 case and I liked that it came with an HDMI port. So…long story short…I saw the 360 Halo Edition at Costco for $500 and I bought it. I feel a little jerkish for buying the Halo edition 360 (because I feel like I’m robbing some Halo diehard of getting the “upgrade”) but, then again, I am admitting to buying it just because I loathe the traditional 360 white design and I wanted an HDMI port so I should, at the very least, get some points for my honesty, right?

I have to say that the best part of finding this and buying this at Costco is that I only had to pay $144 for it. That’s right, it was $500 but I only had to pay $144. Why? Let’s just say I cashed in on a favor from a business associate of mine. I know that sounds shady but trust me, it was all legit.

At any rate, check out these pics (click on them to see them in a better resolution)

So I really love the new design for the 360. But you know what I love the most about the new 360?

The HDMI port. F**k yeah. I wish the original had one but it didn’t.

So…yeah. I’m really lovin’ the new 360 and the fact that I got it for $144. The only downside to all of this is that I’ll have to transfer everything from my old hard drive to the new one.

This bundle’s worth getting if you have the dough and you want a 360. Hell, this bundle’s worth it even if you own a 360 already. In the bundle you get the Halo Edition 360, the Halo edition controller, an extra “Todd McFarlane wireless Halo controller” that includes a bonus mini Master Chief figure, a Halo edition headset, the official strategy guide for the game, the special edition of the game (the $70 version) and a charge set for your wireless controller (that basically charges your controller so you never need batteries).

It’s an expensive piece of Video Crack (if you don’t have the connections anyway) but it’s really worth checking out.

Speaking of the Hall of Shame…

SDCC Exclusive Rodimus quickly comes to mind.

Holy shit does this figure suck. What a waste of money. It might look decent here but trust me, this toy is the worst Transformer I bought since War Within Prime.

His alt mode, thankfully is pretty cool. I think I’ll just keep him in alt mode for the most part.

Expect a more detailed review sometime next week. Maybe. I could get swamped at work like I was this week. I don’t know.

The Energon Shockwave Review is Done!!!

So I finally finished my Energon Shockblast Energon Shockwave review. This is another rare figure that earns its place on the worth buying AND Hall of Shame lists.

Energon Shockwave (I refuse to call him Shockblast because we all know he’s Shockwave) is basically a really cool figure that would have been a lot better if he were given a tab connector in his waist and better alt modes. Like Redeco Starscream before him though, he looks great next to figures like Soundwave and Masterpiece Megatron. (Click on the picture and you’ll see it larger and in better resolution.)

Just click here to read the review.

And before you say it…I am indeed aware of the fact this figure’s been out a couple of years. I don’t see anything wrong with that though because this figure still goes for big bucks on eBay and it’s worth reviewing.

Back by Not So Popular Demand…

So…I’m back. Where was I during the three “post free” days? you may ask? I was either working or at home with no “net.”

Long story short: My DSL was disconnected because my phoneline was disabled by an accident involving a semi. (No joke.) I guess it snagged some wire on my neighbors’ telephone pole taking our line with it. We didn’t realize this until we got back from work on Friday night though so the phone company wasn’t able to come out and fix our line until today. So…yeah. That’s why there was no Energon Shockblast Shockwave review on Friday.

You’re still going to have to wait a little longer for the Shockwave review but that’s cool because you can enjoy the Titanium Ultra Magnus War Within photo gallery I’m working on in the meantime.

I’m also going to post some rather…interesting pics I took over the weekend here as well so be sure to check all this sh*t out.

G1 Redeco Starscream Review and Gallery are done

So I just finished my Redeco Starscream review and I have to say it took me a lot longer than I thought it would. It took about five hours because I had to upload all of my photos, crop an edit them and then create smaller versions of them for the “thumbnail gallery.” I then had to upload everything to my webspace and make sure the smaller gallery linked to the full-sized gallery correctly.

I’m just really amazed by how AMAZING Masterpiece Megatron looks in this here photo. This was one of two or three pics in the set that turned out to be unintentionally amazing. (Click on the photo to see it larger and in better resolution).

This figure is really a letdown (thanks in part to his horrible Hitler ‘stache) but it looks great next to figures like Soundwave, Shockwave, and MP Megatron. I recommend buying him if you see him at Target but I really don’t recommend paying the inflated eBay rates if you can’t find him there. He’s one of the only figures I would put on both my “Hall of Shame list” and my “buy it if you see it” list.

At any rate, click here to check out the review and let me know what ‘ya think.

So now that I can finally post reviews again…

Expect a review and a gallery for G1 Redeco Starscream.

redecostarscreamfiller.jpg G1 Redeco Starscream is a perfect example of a “it could have been so much better” type of figure. Damn is this guy ugly. He would have looked so much better if his “light up mouth” didn’t look like a Hitler mustache. Anyway, I hope to have this guy’s review and gallery posted in the next couple of days along with his Decepticon compatriot Shockwave (Shockblast).

Alternators Prowl Review

I finally finished the Alternators Prowl Review. It took me a hell of a lot longer than it should have but that’s not my fault. Blame Yahoo Geocities. Anyway, Alternators Prowl is a great figure.

I was lucky and I won him off of CrackBay for a reasonable price. After transforming the figure a couple of times and putting it in different poses I have to say it’s not as good as I thought it would be. The detail on the car is really great but the figure just looks really boring compared to how great the prototype looked when the figure was announced a couple of years ago. I just…I hate his pants. And by pants I mean legs. His legs just look like weird “jean chaps” with that weird blue color scheme. They should have painted the blue parts black in my opinion. Is it worth buying though? Certainly but I would advise trying to find one for $40. The typical $80-$100 price the figure goes for on CrackBay just isn’t worth it.

Anyway, you can find the more detailed review here. I’m finally changing the format of my reviews around so I’m going to have more “thumbnail galleries” from now on. The page of the Prowl review kind of goes on forever after the review and the gallery end so you’ll just have to ignore that part. Anyway, click here to check the review out and be sure to post a comment if you agree/disagree with the review. By the way you can see the pictures in this post in a higher resolution if you click on them.

After a long “reviewing absence” I’m back…

I’ve bought a lot of “Plastic Crack” over the summer. More specifically, Transformers crack. I, and I’m not trying to brag here, bought close to forty new Transformers recently.

“So where’s the reviews?” I bet you’re asking. “It seems like you only have one review a week,” I’m sure you’re saying. There’s a reason I haven’t been posting reviews as often as I should and that reason has a name: “Yahoo Geocities.”

Yahoo Geocities, as I’ve said in previous blogs, really sucks ass. I’ve had a lot of issues trying to post photos on the pages that I’ve been working on for my website and that’s why I haven’t just been posting reviews left and right.

Fortunately Yahoo Geocities has finally resolved their issues over images so that’s cool. Here’s the catch though: just when they fix the issues over images they start having problems with their “page heights,” meaning you can’t shrink a page you’re working on once you’ve made it a certain height so your page will look like it’s just going to go on forever if you have any leftover space once you’re done with a review or whatnot.

That’s cool though because I can figure out how to fix those sort of issues easier than I could fix image issues.

So there you go. You’ll be seeing all the reviews I promised over the next couple of weeks. Maybe you’ll even see two or three a week. And with that I give you…

The Alternators Prime Reviewalprowlsmiles.jpg

After working on this for ten or eleven days and dealing with all the image issues I finally got it finished. I encountered the page going on forever thing at the end though so watch out for that annoying glitch.

Ah, I love procrastination…

So I’m sure you may have noticed I haven’t updated in a while. As I’ve said before, I’m obviously not dead nor have I abandoned this blog. I’ve just been busy with my day job.

At any rate, I have A LOT of crack to review. I, as I’ve said many times before, need to get the reviews of Energon Scorponok and Shockwave posted. I also need to review some of the latest crack that I’ve acquired. So be on the lookout for reviews of…

G1 Redeco Jazz

Alternators Prowl

Revoltech Ultra Magnus

Redeco Starscream and…

This fucking guy…

Yeah, he has the same awful issues that War Within Prime had (plus a new issue with his legs not really locking tight into place) but I really don’t care. He has to be one of the coolest looking transformer figures ever.

As I’ve said before, there’s nothing more awesome than a figure with the Prime designs and the white/blue color scheme. I, as I’ve also said before, love Prime way more than I’ll ever love Magnus but I still think that UM’s White Prime colors make him look cooler than even Optimus himself. As always, click on the smaller pics here to see them larger and in a better resolution.

This is some cool shit…

So as many of you may or may not know, I’m somewhat of an old-school Power Rangers buff in addition to being a Transformers buff.

Tommy, the Green/White/Red/Black Ranger was my hero as a kid. I thought he was awesome and I thought he had the coolest non-transformer Transformer at his disposal (the White Tigerzord).

At any rate, Jason David Frank (the actor who played Tommy) left Mighty ‘Morphin Power Rangers in the middle of the first season and he returned near the end to help the Rangers get their Power Coins back. In between gigs he shot a pilot for a show called “Cybertron” (it actually has nothing to do with Transformers even though it shares the name of their home planet). Cybertron, as you may or may not know, eventually went on to become VR Troopers. JDF was originally set to play Adam Steele in the series but he returned to the Power Rangers after the fans demanded that he make a comeback.

A couple of dudes at Rangerboard posted this unaired pilot presentation and I just thought it was really cool. It was really interesting to see Frank in the Ryan Steele role and it was interesting that his two sidekicks (JB and Kaitlin) didn’t actually appear in the pilot.

Anyway, check it out here:

If you watch the whole thing you’ll notice that Jamie Kennedy shows up at the end. It looks like he was intended to be the “Bulk” of the show.
